I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with typewriters.

1. ManHole Languages
Ever wondered what manhole covers are called in other countries and languages? No? Well, neither did I until I started running this
website...
In ManHole Languages you'll find the different ways manhole covers are referred to around the world. Of course, I VERY MUCH welcome
contributions to this category, as I simply haven't found the time to learn all the languages of every country. Actually I'm rather
proud to speak two languages fluently, and manage to get by in another two.
And that's where you come in!
Send me an eMail and let me know what
a manhole cover is called in any language not on the website. Or correct me, if I've listed something stupid as a translation ;-)

2. ManHole Stories
What kind of stories could possibly come up that would be worth not only listing, but actually reading?
Well, that's for me to already know, and for you to find out.
Actually, these are memories related to manhole covers; as well as trivia and reports regarding manhole covers. I'll try to keep
it either as amusing as possible, as trivial as possible, or as informative as possible (with other words: anything goes). All I
ask, is that you keep me informed on any life-stories you have that involve manhole covers?
What do I mean? Well, ever fallen down a manhole? Found an interesting story on manhole covers in the news? Have Jokes
involving manhole covers? Know anyone who can take video footage of manhole exploration (or maintenance - I'm really not that
picky)?
SEND IT IN
- just click here and I'll get your story listed as soon as I can...

3. ManHole Games
There are games with manholes?
Actually yes - there are several video games involving manholes, even some from the 1980s, adequately titles "manhole". That was
one of those initial handheld, game-boy predecessor type models with an on-off button and two movement buttons (think Donkey-Kong).
But that game has nothing to do with what I have here. So why talk about? No reason really...
So far I've included one or two simple games that are directly involved with the manhole cover pictures found on our website. Memory
comes to mind as an easy game to program; and I'll see what else can follow.
I've actually thought about asking someone to create a flash-based manhole game (my thought went along the lines of 'whack the mole',
but I simply haven't found anyone who can create something like this in flash, while remaining within my budget (take a guess - it's
really, really low and starts with an '0').
Anyway - feel free to enjoy yourself and play a few manhole cover games on me!

4. ManHole Related
ManHole related includes everything that just doesn't fit anywhere else. I can think of a variety of pictures that come to mind
that fit nicely into this category, i.e. a picture of someone taking a picture of a manhole cover. Or simply pictures of things
related to manhole covers that just aren't manhole covers...
If I think of anything else, or you have suggestions - then that will likely be included in this section as well.

5. Celebrity ManHoles
The newest and possibly brainless'est (! - c'mon, that word could exist if we really believe...) addition to the ManHole.ca website - Celebrity ManHoles!
I've blackmailed enlisted the help of friend - Stephen - to send fan letters to various
celebrities from all fields of interest. We're asking politicians, movie & tv stars, singers, producers, directors, and anyone who feels they are anyone to
a) autograph a ManHole.ca postcard with any kind of blurb they feel like and
b) send us a picture of a manhole cover taken by them (the picture, not the cover
Now, while I doubt the latter will be very successful, the former might just work and we'll soon have one
hundreds of celebrity autographs on manhole cover postcards available for viewing.
On the Celebrity Manhole page, you'll find a list of who we've written to (complete with the date we sent the letter). And I'm not going the cheap chain-letter route either. All
letters will be hand-written and personalized to the celebrity - if I'm going to do this, I at least want to get my two-cents worth of comments or compliments (Hi Faith Hill!) in...
Whenever someone answers, or if they actually send in a picture of a manhole cover, they'll receive their own page in the celebrity manhole gallery (along with the picture
going into the general pool). Of course, their autograph, comment and/or picture will be on that page as well - and if I find they're homepage or fanpages, I'll happily link
there too...
And if I should run into any celebrities, I'll be sure to bore enlighten them on the art of
manhole covers. I already have more than one example! In fact I'm starting this 'collection' with three autographs already in place - thanks to Darryl Sittler, Darcy Tucker
and Aaron Wrixon (the two former of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the latter a Canadian singer). And I'm sure Darryl didn't think for a minute that I was nuts ;-)
If I think of anything else to add I will, or you have suggestions and celebrity addresses please feel free to email me.
